Q: Hi, Your products look good, but who or what is hmano?

A:  hmano is the bicycling product line of Self-Propelled Industries (SPI), a business owned
and operated in the United States.  hmano products represent the highest quality in
international design and development.  As part of an affiliation of family owned businesses,
the name hmano symbolizes the best of diverse cultural backgrounds.  Because we at
hmano consider these individuals as close as brothers, the name also reflects our attitude
toward customers -- we treat you as well as family.

SPI and the hmano trade name are owned by down-to-earth, normal people, who got tired
of outrageous prices for same high-quality products you can obtain direct from the
manufacturer for a fraction of the “big brand" cost.

Our three operating principles are Honesty, Quality, and Value.

The hmano website can be found at www.hmano.com.  We are constantly developing new
products, so keep checking, because you won't find a better product at a better price!

Q:  What's my size for bars?

A:  We've found that because of the incredible versatility of these bars that someone
looking for a 42 cm bar (c-c across the top) or a 44 c-c bar, are both more than comfortable
on our 44 cm (o-o across the top), which are 42 cm c-c at the top and 44 cm c-c at the
drops.  Due to the ergonomic design the entire top width of the bars are usable, meaning
someone looking for 44 cm c-c on a traditional round tube bar won't notice any width
difference for our 44 cm o-o.  Additionally, we've been involved in elite level sports for 20
years -- a more open chest allows more air, and more comfort -- so even though your
hands might not notice the 3/8" difference on each side of the stem at the drops, your heart
and lungs (and legs) will love it!

Q:  What kind of customer support and warranty do you offer?

A:  We don't, and won't, sell junk.  If it's not the highest quality, we won't carry it.  We've tried
several other products, but have so far only settled with very few for now.  When we
compare the hmano seat post to the Deda Elementi Blackstick, it's virtually indistinguishable
except for the hmano label.  As we said before, we live by Honestly, Quality and Value!  If
you aren't happy with the quality, we'll take it back within 30 days; you just pay shipping.
Finally, although MANY e-sellers don't offer a warranty due to the very low profit margin, we
offer 1-year warranty on all purchases except auction sales (see our guarantee page).
However, we'd be shocked if a warranty was ever necessary.

Additionally, we also offer a crash replacement program!  You crash it, we'll replace it at
cost (see guarantee page).

Q:  Are you saying these are exactly like the Stella Azurra bars?

A:  We can't say they are “exactly” like the Stella Azura bars, but we can say you can’t tell a
difference except for the name.  Also, to our knowledge Stella doesn't make the 46 cm, only
the 42 and 44.  There are only a few actual carbon fiber manufacturers, and we're only
aware of one making these bars (hmano or Stella's).  Thus, it's our opinion that they are the
same manufacturer, material and process.  We can say one thing for sure, you'll love these
bars.  Hope this helps!

Q:  Can you give a good guy deal for multiple products?

A:  Considering our seat post alone is a $159 product (compare to the Blackstick), and the
bars are worth $399 (compare to the Stellas), we believe that our prices are an outstanding
value.  Additionally, if you purchase multiple items we offer shipping discounts.

Q:  Does the bar have holes to run the cables?

A:  There are no holes, but there are groves and retainers (so I guess there are holes…) to
run the cables underneath from the shifters – which conceal the cables and make it so you
can’t feel them under your hands like most other bars.

Q: I don't understand the extra drop on the bottom

A:  It's actually an ergonomic bend that fits in the palm of your hand if you are in the forward
part of the drop.  The very end of the bar is parallel to the ground/bike -- like any other bar.
The hmano bars actually give you three very comfortable positions in the drops!

Q:  Will these work with aero bars?

A:  We do not recommend attaching aero bars, and if you do so, you do it at your own risk
and void all warranties.  Regardless, due to the thumb depression at the back of the bars,
most aero bars would not mount well anyhow.

Q:  I am certainly interested in supporting someone with the ideals that you
express.  I also want to upgrade my bike with the best components available.  I
have not yet mastered component sizing and compatibility so help me understand
what I can use these bars on, and what I can use on these bars.

A:  Thanks very much for the note.  Your bike either has OS ("oversized") 31.8 mm diameter
handlebars (and thus the stem also) or the skinnier (26.0 mm) handlebars.  The hmano
bars will fit any bike, but you may need to swap your stem out to an OS stem if you don’t
already have one.

For a frame like yours - aluminum with carbon fiber seat stays – these bars are an excellent
upgrade.  The biggest complaint we’ve seen with aluminum is the "buzz" from the front end.
Although newer bikes are a vast improvement over old full aluminum bikes, they still cause
unnecessary vibration and numb hands are further exacerbated from the very small contact
area on the standard round bars.  When we first saw a pair of standard wing bars at the
store I was impressed, but couldn't justify the $$$ price tag.  So like we said in the ad -- we
went into business with a bar that we truly believe is an awesome product, and a far
superior value.

Regarding your specific question, they are light enough for an all out race bike, but durable
enough for everyday sport or commuter riding.  Again, they'll fit on any bike, and can be
used for any purpose (road of course).  Shifters fit no problems as the shape in that area is
oval, and you can either wrap your bar tape all the way up (like normal bars) or stop at the
outside of the top bar; it just depends on your personal tastes.  A computer will also fit
between the stem and the back thumb rests indent, and most of the newer computers have
an adjustable mount to fit both 26.0 and 31.8 bars.

Q: What are the specifications of the hmano seatpost?

A: The setback (sometimes known as offset) is 25mm. Total relative setback is really
dependent on the length of your saddle rails.  All the specs are
Weight        164 g (w/aluminum hardware)
Length        300 mm to angled end
Material       Full Carbon Fiber (w/aluminum hardware)
Size             27.2 mm
Offset          25 mm
Minimum Height    60 mm
Max Height          220 mm
